This post has been on our hearts for quite a while now, and it is finally time to put into words and publish. We have decided that as much as we love blogging and all of the fun that it entails; it is time for us to stop posting on the fun little blog. There are so many reasons why we are moving on from this adventure, but we will give a small explanation.
1. The main part of blogging and social media in general is to talk about yourself. What you are wearing, eating, doing, buying, loving, and all the other things that blogs talk about. The fact of the matter is, we want to live a life, living for God, others, and ourselves third. The blog culture, is quite frankly self absorbed and narcissistic We aren't saying that all blogs are, but personally the time that we spend thinking about the blog solely revolves around what we think of ourselves, and what others think of us, when that is not what life is about. The less narcissistic you are the more faith you have in God.
2. It has been so much fun when shopping to think, "I cannot wait to share this on the blog!" but the fact of the matter is, in the long run it does not matter what J.Crew skirt you bought, or the shoes that you must simply buy. Rather, it is the relationships and memories you make. Those are the things that are going to last. In general, all social media can be very distracting from real life interactions, relationships, and moments.
3. We simply don't have the time anymore. It has been true for a while that we just don't have time to make blogging a priority right now. C's father always says, "You make time for things that are important to you."
Quite frankly even when we do have extra time from school, bible study, tennis, horse back riding, working out, studying, SAT prep class, tutoring , and socializing; we would rather spend what little extra time we have on pinterest, reading other blogs, reading books, watching t.v. or playing with our fluffy corgis. I guess you could say we just don't have the passion anymore that makes all the time put in worth it.
4. Life is not on your computer. It is with REAL people. We need to live our lives in the moment, and enjoy our highschool years not stuck behind a computer seeking approval from people we don't even know! We really do think y'all are all precious and will continue to read your blogs, but we also need to move on from the cyber friendships and invest more into the real ones.
Please know that this year in the blogging world was such a great & special one, and we would love for all of y'all to keep in touch with us through our instagrams, twitters, and pinterests.
We really appreciate all of y'alls encouragement and sweet comments we have received since blogging, and look forward to what God is going to be doing in our lives aside from the blog!
xoxo.
